Kilauan Emas RIID 2012- Bahagian II

Sudah hampir sebulan blog saya ini ditinggalkan. Dah hampir bersawang agaknya. Banyak cerita yang ingin dikongsikan tetapi kekangan masa menghalang saya untuk menulis. Cerita tentang RIID 2012 pun saya tak habis ceritakan lagi. Biarlah gambar yang menceritakan segalanya.

Hampir tiba ke lokasi. Dulu semasa belajar di Kolej UNITI saya kerap juga lalu jalan ini. 

Akhirnya tiba di UiTM Kampus Alor Gajah. Selama ini jalan ini sahaja. Baru berpeluang masuk ke sini. Kampus yang indah & permai. Seronok kalau dapat belajar / bekerja di sini. Jauh dari hiruk-pikuk kota.

Sampai di Dewan Taming Sari. Mereka sediakan booth ini. Siap dengan lapik meja.

Tapi booth yang disediakan agak kecil. Mesin yang kami bawa besar. Nasib baik la dapat sebelah tepi. Lepas setup booth beginilah gambarannnya.

Pada awalnya hanya saya seorang daripada kumpulan saya yang hadir. Jenuh juga la nak mengangkut semua peralatan dan mesin. Syukur sebab ada rakan sejawat yang lain yang sangat membantu dan memberi sokongan. Terima kasih rakan seperjuangan Norakmal Maamor, Nor Azlan Abdul Rahman, Raja Shahrizal Raja Mad Yatim, Mohd Fauzi Abu Bakar dan Muhd Hazrin Redzuan.Kumpulan mereka memang mantap. Kalau mereka tiada hari itu tak tahu la macam mana keadaanya.

Rakan seperjuangan saya hadir agak lewat. Gara-gara tersesat ke UiTM Melaka. Patutnya ke UiTM Alor Gajah. Nasib baik ketika juri sampai ke booth kami mereka dah selamat tiba. Kumpulan saya terdiri daripada 5 orang ahli iaitu saya sendiri, Ahmad Nizam Yaacob selaku ketua kumpulan, Mohd Azmi Abd Rahman, Hemi Azwan Ikhwan dan  Shahruddin Abdul Rahman. Mereka semua dari Bahagian Teknologi Pembuatan. Walaubagaimanapun hanya 2 orang ahli kumpulan saya yang dapat hadir akibat kekangan tugas/modul. Minggu itu mereka sangat sibuk dengan tugas pengajaran & peperiksaan.

Penjurian RIID 2012 adalah selama 2 hari. Juri kami daripada MIDA. Semasa penjurian, ahlhamdulillah. Segalanya berjalan lancar. Cuma kami kurang mata kerana belum membuat permohonan pendaftaran harta intelek.

Hari kedua, terdapat dua sesi ceramah sebelum majlis penutup dan pengumuman pemenang dilakukan.

Akhirnya penantian kami berbaloi. Memang sangat berdebar masa nak tunggu pengumuman.

Sejarah yang terukir..memang manis. 

Hilang segala jerih payah....

 untuk berada di tahap ini bukan suatu yang mudah...

Sebenarnya ini adalah penglibatan pertama kami bersaing dengan IPTA lain. Selama ini hanya merasa bertanding di peringkat JTM sahaja. Tetapi tidak beroleh apa-apa. Ramai yang kurang yakin pada awalnya. Tetapi berkat kesabaran dan semangat yang tidak berbelah bagi dari  rakan seperjuangan, akhirnya ternyata kami mampu. Mungkin ada produk lain yang lebih baik daripada projek yang kami pertaruhkan. Tetapi, hakikatnya kejayaan ini boleh dijadikan batu loncatan dan pemangkin untuk meraih kejayaan lain yang lebih besar di masa akan datang. Moga ianya jadi inspirasi kepada pelajar-pelajar kami dan juga rakan seperjuangan yang lain.

Sekali lagi, terima kasih kepada semua yang mendoakan dan memberikan semangat kepada kami. Tanpa kalian, siapalah kami. Tanpa sokongan dan iringan doa kalin, kejayaan ini hampir mustahil.

p/s: mimpi suami saya jadi kenyataan. mimpi saya juga jadi realiti....tak salah kita bermimpi..insyaallah..jika diizinkan olehNya..tiada yang mustahil.....

SCHOOL OF LIFE™ :An Opportunity to Meet Prime Minister

While on sick leave, I had some time to reflect on the growing number of my online friends, particularly on Facebook, and the interactions I’ve had with all of you. I have met hundreds of you who had travelled from all over the country to meet with me at the 1Malaysia Tea event last March. Hundreds more had intended to travel to Putrajaya for the postponed dinner.

However, this number remains a fraction of the 500,000 or so Malaysians scattered across the country who have connected with me online. While the tea and dinner events allow me to connect with some of you directly, I appreciate that travelling to Putrajaya can be challenging due to various considerations. Still, I would like to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to meet with me. After some thought, here is how I plan to reconcile this issue.

As my work takes me around the country, I would like to connect with as many of you near where you live. If you would like to meet with me during my travels to your area, submit your details in the form here. Terbaru, sebuah syarikat penyedia latihan terkemuka INMIND yang membawa modul Bina Insan suatu ketika dulu telah menjemput saya mengendalikan pembinaan modul Bina 1Malaysia dan saya laporan yang saya terima dari adaptasi modul tersebut kepada beberapa buah sekolah, persatuan belia dan komuniti amat bagus dan setiap selesai program latihan ini, peserta dapat menyebut 8 nilai aspirasi 1Malaysia dan yakin bahawa jika setiap individu memiliki 8 nilai ini maka kejayaan adalah pasti menjadi miliknya. Saya mengambil prinsip Edgar Dale 1969 yang mengatakan kaedah simulasi dapat memberi kesan 90% kepada ingatan dan ketiadaan alat simulasi di pasaran sebagai dorongan untuk mencipta SCHOOL OF LIFE™ dengan membuat satu sasaran dalam perjalanan simulasi kehidupan ini yang menuntut keseimbangan antara Wang dan Nilai untuk kejayaan.

Saya menulis di sini kerana yakin bahawa pentadbiran Dato' Seri amat memberi perhatian kepada komunikasi melalui internet kerana saya menerima maklumat ini secara terus dalam perjumpaan rakan internet tempohari.

Saya juga ada menulis untuk mempersembahkan inovasi ini pada beberapa jabatan dan institusi tetapi pada hakikatnya, ramai yang tidak dapat menerima inovasi yang dihasilkan di Malaysia oleh rakyat Malaysia lalu saya langsung tidak berpeluang walaupun untuk membuat demo atau persembahan.

BILL GATES: What Makes for a Good Bridge Partner?

Bill learned to play bridge from his parents, but it became one of his favorite pastimes after he began playing with Warren Buffett. Before heading off to join Warren at the 2010 Nebraska Regional Bridge Tournament in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Bill answered questions about his love for the game.

A question from a student in the U.S.

You play bridge, which is a competitive game but also a partnership game. What elements do you look for in a good bridge partner?

Bill

Well, I'm very lucky that I get to play with bridge players who are dramatically better than I am, and who are nice enough that they will understand my game and appreciate why maybe I led the wrong thing or didn't shift to the right suit or evaluated the hand just slightly wrong. They’ll make comments that add to my knowledge, increasing the chance I might do it right next time. And that's a lot of fun.

You know, some of these bridge players remember all the hands. You play 50 or 60 hands in a day, and you go to dinner that night, and they know every single one. Bob Hamman is kind of the ultimate of that. If I misplayed some hand three years ago, he can still tell you the spot cards that were in there. Bob himself has misplayed very few hands when I’ve played with him, but I do make sure to remember those so that I have my modest defense ready.

Do you prefer to play match point events, Swiss or knockout team matches?

Bill

The classic form of the game is the team format where you have four people and you're playing for the normal game-type scores. Warren Buffett much prefers that, because it's just the traditional form of the game, and it doesn't make such a big deal of the small differences of a no-trump contract versus a suit contract.

I like both team and match point. I like match points because there are just two of you playing, so there are slightly fewer variables. You usually get hand records afterwards, and a lot of tables play the same hand, and so you can look at all those different scores and see what happened. And because it's so excruciatingly important to take every trick you can, match point highlights any sloppiness in defensive or declarative play. So it forces you to think, okay, I've got to learn about squeezes, I've got to keep track of the shape of the hands I don't know as the hand goes on, and take full advantage of that.

So, I really like the mix of the two. If you get the right team of four, that's a lot of fun because it's a social thing as well as kind of a mental challenge.

SPEECH(2008) Malaysia : Future Bill Gates ?

Bismillahirahman nirrahim

Assalamualaikum and very good morning. 

The title of my speech today is " The born of future Bill Gates in Malaysia". First of all, I would like to say thank you to UPM for this golden opportunity. I believe everybody deserved to be here as a leader that will leading and administrate in towering UPM as research university in Malaysia. As what our Vice Canselor Prof Datuk Dr. Nik Mustapha Raja Abdullah said during his speech in year 2008 :

" it's the right time for us to adapt and adequate the culture of high performance to show our potential and capability toward our vision to be a world class university that recognized in local and international" 

Ladies and gentleman, 

Malaysia's Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC Malaysia) is Malaysia's most exciting initiative for the global ICT industry and envisages an environment specially designed to facilitate companies to harness the full potential of IT and multimedia technologies. Various incentives and programmes are planned under this initiative to attract, nurture and retain ICT and ICT enabled businesses. 

There are about six Technology Cluster (MSC Malaysia Status Company); Creative Multimedia, Hardware Design, Software Development, Share Service/ Outsourcing, Support Services and Internet Based Business.

Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) in one of its role as facilitator of MSC Malaysia has been entrusted with the responbility to create a pool of knowledge workers and potential technopreneur to satiate the needs of the MSC Malaysia toward Vision 2020 to Malaysia as a Modern Country.

 

The Bumiputera IT Technopreneur Development Programme (BITE) @ know as MSC Malaysia Skills Training and Enhancement Programme (STEP) (2010) was initiated in November 2005 and under purview of Technopreneur Development Division (TeDD) of MDeC. The thrust of the BITE programme is to increase Bumiputera Participation I the ICT sector, promote technoprneurship as a carrer choice and to reduce unemployment among Bumiputera graduates and to assist Bumiputera companies. 

Generally, the BITE programme aim to increase Bumiputera participation in the ICT. A lot of effort have been taken to increase the number of leads and ideas. The programme concentrates its efforts on disseminating the information to identified colleges and universities where Bumiputera are high in number. In addition, MDeC also collaborates with relevant association to attract more players from the industry to join the programme.

BITE has established two partnership programmes at present, with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) and Ministry of entrepereneur and Coopereative Development (MECD).

Under the BITE partnership, among the programmes include TAP, C-TAP and MATEC. As for BITE Business Development, the programme available includes Idea Enhancement Programme, Technopreneurship Competency Enhancement and Technopreneur Network Development which is the state, government agencies, industry initiated activities.

Ladies and Gentleman, 

Statistic from MDeC show that as of year 2005 there are about 1,400 MSC status company with only 224 (16%) involve in Content Industry. MDeC have their strategies to invent 900 creative content industry companies register as MSC Malaysia.

MDeC aims to have many more collaborations with other various industry organizations to fulfil its objectives. All this effort is to ensure by 2010, Bumiputera makes up at least 30% from the overall number MSC Malaysia Status companies. 

Lets look on Microsoft as our good idol in this industry. Orlando Ayala, Microsoft's senior vice-president of Unlimited Potential Group said that Microsoft started with one vision in mind 35 years ago - to bring a computer to every desk in every home. This vision what they call Unlimited Potential, is based on the principal that every single human being has potential. However this potential is often not realized because of the lack of opportunities afforded to those who cannot get access to technology and knowledge - those in the middle and bottom of the pyramid due to various social-economic-political reasons. 

In creating a sustainable economic enablement ecosystem that will help unleash the unlimited potential that every citizen in the world has through the use of technology.

Microsoft Corporation- a 17 year veteran with the world's largest software company, Ayala says that there is no doubt that two new billion consumers are going to join the economy by 2015, and most of these consumers are going to come from emerging markets. They believe that it's not just delivering technology to a community and then leaving them alone to struggle with it. But, rather it's about creating long-lasting outcomes that will ensure it will comes that will ensure it will not only be able to survive but to thrive on its own. 

In addition, it includes seeing students and adults getting the education and training they need, local companies being formed and businesses thriving and jobs being created by and for the community.

Ladies and gentleman,

Nowadays, the industry therefore needs to innovate and come to terms with how to lower the entry barrier for access the technology. In Malaysia, Microsoft is committed to consciously helping the growth and development of the country.

This commitment is built on Microsoft vision and passion for Malaysia; that to enable Malaysian citizens, organizations and businesses to realize their full potential in the increasingly globalized environment of today.

Microsoft's initiatives combine innovative technology, partnerships and programme to achieve these goals. For 2008, the company has set a goal to bring the benefits of technology to the more than 20 million people in Malaysia. 

Microsoft Malaysia's Citizenship outreach was built specifically in line with Malaysia's Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP) aspirations for digital inclusion and producing quality human capital resources for the country.

Ladies and gentleman, 

Based on report in Business Today (February 2008 Vol. 08 Issue 02) Economist have long recognized the important role ICT can play in a country's development. To quantify that statement and translate it into numbers many can understand, IDC (International Data Corporation) carried out a study of the economic impact of ICT in 82 countries. One of the more interesting facets of the study is reporting on the impact it has on Malaysia.

According to IDC, it was reported that the Malaysian IT sector is expected to generate more than 98,000 new jobs from 2007 to 2011. It also accounted for the creation of more than 800 new IT companies within the same time frame. 

Furthermore, such numbers are reflected in IDC's senior staff, such as Amie White, Consulting Director, Global Research Organization, IDC saying: "Despite the economical challenges Malaysia is expected to face throughout 2008, IDC is confident the IT industry will see similar, if not better, growth and development. Many major stakeholders here will be major contributors to this."

Ladies and gentlemen,

The Malaysian IT market having the profile of an emerging economy with 63% of it's IT spending in 2007 focusing on hardware and only 12% on software. IT spending represents 2.9% of its GDP (Gross Domestic Product), compared to a world average of 2.5%. 

Furthermore, overall IT spending is expected to hit USD 4,553 million in 2007 and grow 9.1% a year between now and 2011. Software spending is expected to grow 7.5% annually. 

Although software represents a small percentage of IT spending, overall software related employment for 2007 is expected to be nearly 31.8% of the total IT employment size, which measures more than 411,000 employees.

 

Ladies and gentleman,

As far as we are concerned, MSC Malaysia had succeeded in picturing and realizing the sixth MSC strategies toward adequate ICT in the society. It was a big challenge for us before. But, now we have proof to the world that "Malaysia Boleh" and we can stand in the eyes of the world with the high prestige.

Before I end up my speech, I would like to encourage and motivate all of you to utilize the chances, resources and funds provided by the government efficiently. Issue of globalization was a big challenge for us. The inventions of latest technology grow very past in these recent years. Therefore, we must be adaptable, creative and innovative in showing our full potential in turn help to create a sustainable ecosystem in our country. As a future leader that will inherit the leadership of this country, we should corporate together in building the nation.
